What is a learning tower or learning tower?

A learning tower is a safe platform specially designed to raise a child to counter height so that they can easily engage with the world around them. Small children are naturally curious and want to be a part of what is happening around them. The learning tower ensures that you can easily involve your little one in a safe way. Apparently a lot of fun things happen on the counter that they don't like to miss ;-)

The height of the platform of the learning tower is 45 cm. This way you create the perfect step for your toddler or preschooler to help at the counter in the kitchen. You can also use it in the bathroom. Brushing your teeth together has never been so easy! But don't limit its use to the kitchen or bathroom. Do you have a greenhouse with fresh vegetables, perfect for your child to pick the vegetables with a safe step. Or does grandpa or daddy like to work on the workbench in the garage? Of course your little one will want to join in and look at all the bolts, screws and nails. But you still prefer to keep them at a safe distance and in their safe place. A learning tower is perfect for this!

Any child who can stand firmly on his feet is safe in a learning tower. Always under the close supervision of an adult, of course. So from about 10 months (depending on the individual development of your child) you can in principle use a learning tower. Around the age of 5 or 6, your child will have outgrown the learning tower and will no longer need it as a safe step to reach the kitchen sink.

We speak from experience!:-) Getting a learning tower into your home will make your life with a toddler or toddler much easier. Some examples of when the Montessori learning tower will be your lifesaver? Picky toddler at the table? Let them help cook! Toddlers are more likely to try new foods if they have been involved in their preparation. Let them stir, beat, mix, cut (with a safe children's knife and under supervision). We have always been taught not to play with our food, but helping to cook is also a way to get play and fun for food. No more fighting at the table, but a connecting moment in the kitchen. Crafting and painting. Sometimes painting, crafting or cutting can become a hectic intention. Place your toddler in his/her learning tower at the kitchen counter and keep all the artwork in an easy-to-clean environment. Does your son or daughter not feel like sitting in his high chair? Then the learning towers are an excellent and safe alternative for a meal. The little adults with extra energy appreciate the freedom of movement that a learning tower offers compared to sitting tied up in a chair. At the end of the day, does your child come home tired after school or daycare and the food still has to be made? The perfect tool at such a time:the learning tower! Children feel involved, prefer to be close to you and you have your hands free to prepare the food or do the dishes.

A learning tower supports the Montessori philosophy. Montessori focuses on letting children discover independently, at their own pace. The name comes from Maria Montessori. The essence is summarized in the statement “teach me to do it myself”. You can integrate Montessori techniques at home by providing your child with the right environment and materials that will give them the opportunity to do a lot themselves. It starts with putting all the material for the children at child height. A learning tower indeed offers the perfect support to apply Maria Montessori's philosophy at home. Your child can crawl into the learning tower independently and also get out of it. You offer them the opportunity to help in the daily activities of your family. So they can learn to take care of themselves. It will boost their confidence!
